Articles
Edit an article
The article editor block by block — Preview/Edit, autosave, links, SEO Settings, Export, and what happens when you edit a live article.
Every article opens into the same editor, whether it's a fresh draft or already live on your site.

Preview and Edit
The two tabs at the top switch between Preview (how the article will look) and Edit, which exposes the title and the body, written in Markdown — plain text with # for headings, \[text\]\(url\) for links and so on.
Changes autosave about a second and a half after you stop typing; a Save button also appears while there's something unsaved, in case you want to save on demand.
Turning text into a link
- Select a word or phrase and paste a URL — it becomes a link over the selection.
- Or select text and press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) to open a link around it.
SEO Score
The right-hand rail's top widget is your SEO score — a 0–100 ring, 8 checks you can click open one at a time, and two originality checks (Wording and Topic) that compare the article against the rest of your site.
SEO Settings
- URL Slug — the article's address on your site. Two articles can't share one; if yours is already used by another article, the editor tells you before you can save.
- Meta description — the search-result snippet, with a live character counter.
- Featured image — your cover. See Cover images for pricing and what each state means.

Export
Three ways to take the article elsewhere:
- Copy with formatting — pastes straight into a blog editor or a doc, headings and links intact.
- Copy as Markdown — for anywhere that reads Markdown.
- Copy as HTML — for a code editor or a CMS that wants raw HTML.
If you don't have a publishing integration connected, this is how you publish — copy the article, paste it into your site, then use Mark as published below to tell Clodix the article is live (paste the link to its page on your site). This doesn't publish anything by itself; it lets later articles link to this one. See Publish an article for the rest of the publishing flow.
Editing an article that's already live
Once an article is published, an edit you save here doesn't necessarily change what's on your site right away — what happens depends on your platform:
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Update on site / Replace on site | Your platform (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Ghost, HubSpot or FTP) keeps its own copy. Click Update on site, confirm Replace on site, and your edit overwrites the live post. Until you do, your site still shows the earlier version. |
| Saved — your site updates by itself | For a widget or embed integration — the new version shows on your site within about 5 minutes, no action needed. |
| Saved here only | Nothing is pushed anywhere automatically for this platform. Your site keeps whatever version it already has; copy the new one from Export and update it there yourself. |
If auto-publish didn't go through
When autopilot tried to publish an article on its planned day and your site kept refusing, the editor shows Auto-publish didn't go through, with your site's own answer quoted underneath. Check your connection in Settings → Publishing integrations, then press Publish to try again by hand. See Publishing problems.
