Troubleshooting

Setup didn't finish

What each setup error message means, and what to do about a failed, stuck or wrong-looking onboarding run.

Website address errors

These show up on step 1, before anything else runs:

You seeWhat it means
"There's no such domain as \<yourdomain\> — check the spelling, or connect the domain first"A typo, or the domain isn't pointed at a live site yet.
"That doesn't look like a web address"What you typed isn't recognized as a URL.
"Your site isn't working right now — it answered HTTP \<code\>. Open it in a browser to check, then try again"Your own server is down or erroring — nothing to fix on our side. Open the site yourself to confirm, then retry once it's back.
"The site blocked our crawler — make sure it's publicly accessible"A firewall, bot-protection rule, password/basic-auth, or a robots.txt rule is turning us away.
"We couldn't read anything from your site — check that it's online, then try again"The page answered but had no readable text — often a mostly-empty placeholder page.

"Something went wrong"

A step in setup failed partway through. Press Try again — it resumes from the step that failed, not from the beginning, and doesn't use a second site slot or charge anything again.

Stuck on "Building your plan…"

This normally takes a few minutes. After about 15 minutes, you'll see an option to go to your dashboard — the plan keeps building in the background and appears there once it's ready. You won't lose your place by leaving the page.

Wrong language

If your plan came out in the wrong language, fix it afterwards rather than restarting setup: open Brand DNA and change Language, then use Rebuild to regenerate your keywords and planned topics in the new one.

Wrong niche or brand details

If setup misread your site, you can either edit the individual fields on Brand DNA, or press Re-analyze site there to crawl it again from scratch. Re-analyzing overwrites your current brand profile.

Retrying too often

Setup retries are limited to a handful per hour, as a safety measure against a stuck button rather than a real limit on fixing your site. If you hit it, wait a few minutes before pressing Try again.

FAQ

Does a failed setup attempt cost me anything?

No — setup is free, and "Try again" reuses the same site rather than starting a new one.

My site needs a login, or is still in development — can Clodix read it?

No. Your site needs to be publicly reachable for setup to crawl it. Make it public (or finish moving it to its real domain) first, then run setup.

I don't have a website yet — can I still use Clodix?

Not for setup — Clodix needs somewhere of your own to publish articles to. Get a site live first, even a simple one, then come back and enter its address.
