Publishing integrations
Wix
Connect your Wix blog with an API key and Dashboard URL, and see what publishing and unpublishing do on Wix.
Clodix publishes articles straight into your Wix Blog using an API key.
Get your API key
- Go to manage.wix.com/account/api-keys.
- Generate a new API key.
- Grant it Wix Blog and Members permissions.
- Copy the key — it starts with
IST..
You'll also need your site's Dashboard URL — the address of the Blog section in your Wix dashboard (it looks like https://manage.wix.com/dashboard/xxxxxxxx-xxxx-.../blog).
Connect it in Clodix
- Open Settings → Publishing integrations and click Wix.
- Fill in:
- API Key — the key starting with
IST.. - Dashboard URL — your site's Blog dashboard address.
- API Key — the key starting with
- Click Connect.
Clodix checks the key live and also needs at least one member on your Wix site to credit as the post's author — if your site has none yet, add one in Wix first.
What a published post looks like
- The article is created as a Wix blog post and published immediately, with your title and body converted into Wix's rich-content format.
- The cover image is set as the post's displayed media, pulled in from where Clodix generated it.
- Editing the article later and republishing creates a fresh post — Wix's API has no way to update a post that's already live, so each republish of an edited article is a new post rather than a change to the old one.
Unpublish on Wix
Wix's Blog API has no "back to draft" — the closest reversible option is the trash. Unpublish on Wix moves the post to the trash bin, where you can restore it from your Wix dashboard if needed.
Common problems
| Message | What it means | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| "Wix rejected the API key — check it has Wix Blog + Members permissions" | The key is wrong, expired, or missing one of the two required permissions. | Generate a new key with both Wix Blog and Members permissions checked. |
| "Enter the full Dashboard URL" | The Dashboard URL didn't contain a recognizable site ID. | Copy the full URL from your browser while viewing the Blog section in your Wix dashboard. |
| "No site member found to author the post" | Your Wix site has no members yet, so there's nobody to credit as the post's author. | Add at least one member to your Wix site, then connect again. |
FAQ
Why does the API key need to start with "IST."?
That prefix identifies it as a Wix account-level API key — the kind that can act on your site through the API. A different kind of key (or a copy-paste mistake) won't work.
What happens to posts already in the trash?
They're recoverable from your Wix dashboard like any other trashed post, until you delete them permanently there.
