Publishing integrations
HubSpot
Connect HubSpot with a Private App access token, and what your blog needs before articles can publish.
Clodix publishes articles straight into your HubSpot CMS blog using a Private App access token.
Create a Private App
- In HubSpot, go to Settings → Integrations → Private Apps.
- Create a new private app.
- Give it the content scope.
- Copy the generated access token.
Connect it in Clodix
- Open Settings → Publishing integrations and click HubSpot.
- Paste the Access token.
- Click Connect. Clodix checks the token live, finds your blog, and looks for an author to credit posts to.
What a published post looks like
- The article is created as a HubSpot blog post and published immediately, with your title, body, URL slug and meta description.
- The cover image is set as the post's featured image.
- Editing the article later and republishing updates the same HubSpot post — Clodix never creates a second copy.
- Unpublish sets the post back to Draft in HubSpot. Nothing is deleted.
Your blog needs an author
HubSpot won't publish a post without an author assigned. Clodix looks for one automatically when you connect, and again at publish time if none was found — so if your blog didn't have an author yet, just add one in HubSpot (your blog's Settings → Authors) and your next publish picks it up without reconnecting.
Common problems
| Message | What it means | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| "HubSpot rejected the token — check it has the content scope" | The token is wrong, revoked, or the Private App doesn't have the content scope. | Recheck the scope on your Private App in HubSpot, or generate a new token. |
| "No blog found on this HubSpot account" | There's no blog to publish into. | Create a blog in HubSpot, then connect again. |
| "HubSpot needs a blog author to publish this post" | Your blog has no author assigned yet. | Add one under your blog's Settings → Authors in HubSpot, then publish again — no need to reconnect. |
FAQ
What does the "content" scope let Clodix do in HubSpot?
It allows creating, reading and updating blog posts — nothing else. Clodix can't see or touch your contacts, deals, email or any other part of your HubSpot account.
Can I revoke access later?
Yes — disconnect from Settings → Publishing integrations → HubSpot → Manage → Disconnect in Clodix, and you can also delete the Private App directly in HubSpot at any time.
