Brand DNA

Images and cover style

Turn article covers on or off, pick an image style, and add a custom image instruction.

The Images block on Brand DNA controls whether your articles get a generated cover image, and what that cover looks like.

Generate images for my articles

A switch. When it's on, every article gets a generated cover as part of its normal generation run — you don't request it separately. When it's off, articles are written without a cover; you can still add one by hand later from the article editor (see Cover images).

The switch saves itself the moment you toggle it — there's no separate Save button.

Image style

Shown only while Generate images for my articles is on. Pick one of four styles; it applies to every cover generated from then on:

StyleLook
Clean & MinimalSimple, airy
PhotorealisticWarm, realistic
WatercolorSoft, artistic
3D RenderSoft, modern

Click a style card to select it — it saves immediately.

Custom image instruction

An optional free-text note the cover generator follows on top of your chosen style — for example "warm natural light, no visible text or logos", or a detail specific to your brand (a mascot, a color to avoid, a composition you don't want).

Click Add (or Edit, once you've set one) to open the text box, type your instruction, and press Save. Cancel discards your change.

How covers get used

A cover is generated automatically with every article, using whatever style and instruction are set here at the time. You can also generate or regenerate a single article's cover by hand from the editor — see Cover images for the credit cost and what happens when generation fails.

FAQ

Does changing the image style redo my existing covers?

No. A style change only affects covers generated after you change it. To change an article's existing cover, regenerate it from that article's editor.

What happens if I turn off image generation after some articles already have covers?

Nothing changes on those articles — their covers stay. New articles generated afterward simply skip the cover step.

Can I upload my own cover image instead?

Not from this screen — covers here are generated. If you need a specific image on an article, publish it and replace the featured image on your own CMS, or set the article's status to published by hand after adding the image there.
