Publishing integrations

Ghost

Connect Ghost with a custom Admin API integration, and avoid the most common mix-up — the Content API key.

Clodix publishes articles straight into your Ghost site using Ghost's Admin API.

Create a custom integration

  1. In Ghost Admin, go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. Click Add custom integration.
  3. Name it something recognizable, like "Clodix".
  4. Ghost shows two keys — an Admin API Key and a Content API Key. You need the Admin API Key.
  5. Copy the Admin API URL shown on the same screen (your site's address, e.g. https://yourblog.ghost.io).

Connect it in Clodix

  1. Open Settings → Publishing integrations and click Ghost.
  2. Fill in:
    • Admin API URL — your site's address.
    • Admin API Key — the key in id:secret format (a long string with a colon in the middle).
  3. Click Connect. Clodix checks the key against your site live before saving.

What a published post looks like

  • The article is created as a Ghost post and published immediately, with your title, body, excerpt and meta description.
  • The cover image is set as the post's feature image.
  • Editing the article later and republishing updates the same Ghost post — Clodix never creates a second copy.
  • Unpublish sets the post back to Draft in Ghost. Nothing is deleted.

Common problems

MessageWhat it meansFix
"Admin API key looks wrong"The key doesn't match the expected id:secret format — usually because the Content API Key was pasted instead.Go back to Settings → Integrations → [your integration] in Ghost and copy the Admin API Key.
"Ghost rejected the Admin API key"The key was copied incorrectly, or the custom integration was deleted on the Ghost side.Recreate the integration in Ghost if needed, and copy the Admin API Key again.
"Couldn't reach the Ghost Admin API"The Admin API URL is wrong or your site is offline.Double-check the URL shown on the integration screen in Ghost.

FAQ

Will Clodix be able to see my Ghost members or subscriptions?

No. The custom integration only grants access to posts through the Admin API — it has nothing to do with members, subscriptions or billing on your Ghost site.

Can I use the same integration for something else in Ghost?

You can, but we recommend creating a dedicated "Clodix" integration so you can tell at a glance what it's for, and revoke just that one if you ever need to.
