Brand DNA

Brand DNA overview

What Brand DNA is, every field on the screen, and what Re-analyze site overwrites.

Brand DNA is the profile Clodix builds from your site during setup — and every article, cover and social post is written from it. Get it right once on this page, and everything Clodix writes from then on follows it automatically.

Why Brand DNA matters

A generic prompt produces generic content. Brand DNA is what turns "write an article about coffee" into an article that sounds like your business — written for your audience, in your tone, about the themes you actually cover, and nowhere near the topics you listed as off-limits. Open Brand DNA in the sidebar any time you feel an article missed the mark; the fastest fix is almost always a sharper sentence here, not a rewrite in the editor.

Language

The language your future articles, covers and social posts are written in. It saves as soon as you pick it — there is no separate Save button.

Changing it only affects what gets generated from now on. Your existing keywords and planned topics keep the language they were built in, so right after a change you'll see a note:

Rebuilding replaces your keyword library and the untouched part of your calendar with ones built in the new language; articles already written keep the language they were generated in. See Rebuild your plan for exactly what changes and what stays. If the rebuild fails, your credits are returned automatically.

Brand

Click Edit to change:

  • Brand name
  • What you do
  • Tone of voice
  • Audience

Press Save to apply, or Cancel to discard your changes. These four fields were filled in automatically when your site was analyzed — fix anything that reads wrong, since the writer takes them literally.

Content

Click Edit to change:

  • Service area — where you do business (e.g. "United States", or "Berlin, Germany").
  • Topics to avoid — anything articles should steer clear of: competitor names, claims you can't make, retired products.
  • Key themes — type a theme and press Enter to add it as a chip; click the × on a chip to remove it.

Images

Covers for your articles. See Images and cover style for the generate toggle, style options and the custom image instruction.

Autopilot

Automatic generation and publishing, on the schedule your calendar lays out. See Autopilot for the "How often" options, weekdays-only and auto-publish.

Detected from your site

The sidebar on the right shows what Clodix found when it last analyzed your site: a short description of your niche, the topic clusters it identified, and how many pages it read.

Re-analyze site

Click Re-analyze site to crawl your site again and regenerate Brand DNA from scratch — useful after a redesign, a new product line, or a change in positioning.

FAQ

I changed Brand DNA — will my already-written articles change too?

No. Brand DNA only affects content generated from now on. Articles already written keep the words they were written with; edit them directly in the article editor if you want them to match the new profile.

My articles don't sound like my business. What should I fix first?

Start with What you do and Audience in the Brand block — a vague description produces generic articles. Then check Key themes and Topics to avoid in Content. A few precise sentences here change the output more than anything you can do in the editor afterward.

Does editing Brand DNA cost credits?

No — editing the Brand, Content, Images and Autopilot blocks is free. Only Re-analyze site and a language rebuild have a cost tied to them, and both are clearly priced before you confirm.
