Analytics and insights

Analytics

Read the Analytics screen — clicks, impressions, rankings and the searches and pages that bring people in.

Analytics reports what Google or Bing have actually seen about your site — clicks, impressions, click rate, rankings, and which searches and pages bring people in. It's separate from Site Insights, which looks at your website itself rather than at search engine data.

Analytics screen with tiles, a clicks chart, top keywords and top pages

Before you connect

Analytics has nothing to show until a search engine is connected — the screen opens straight into a connect prompt instead of empty tiles. See Connect Google Search Console and Connect Bing Webmaster Tools.

The two tabs

Google and Bing each get their own tab at the top of the screen — their numbers are never mixed into one total, because they measure different things over different windows. Switch between them to see each engine's own report.

Period picker

Choose Today, 7 days, 30 days (the default), Custom, or a full year. Every tile, chart and table on the screen updates to the window you pick.

Clodix Impact

A tile showing the potential monthly traffic your tracked keywords represent — this number is Clodix's own estimate, always available even before you connect a search engine, and it carries your current growth-level badge.

The four tiles

TileWhat it means
VisitorsPeople who visited your site from that engine's search results — this is the engine's clicks number.
ImpressionsPeople who saw your site in that engine's search results, whether they clicked or not.
Click rateHow often people click your result when they see it (clicks ÷ impressions).
Avg. positionWhere you typically show up in that engine's results — closer to #1 is better.

Click any tile to open a breakdown with its own daily chart.

Below the tiles

  • Clicks per day — a bar chart of daily clicks across the period you picked.
  • Top keywords — "What people searched": for Google this is drawn from your tracked keyword list with real clicks and volume; for Bing it's Bing's own top query list, which carries impressions instead of volume and reports over its own trailing window rather than the dates you picked above.
  • Top pages — "Your most seen pages": the pages on your site that earned the most clicks and impressions.

Empty states

  • No keywords synced yet: "Keywords appear here after onboarding analyses your site." (Google) or "Bing's top queries appear here after the first sync." (Bing)
  • No published pages yet: "Publish articles to see your top pages here."
  • Just connected: "Connected — syncing your data. Numbers appear within a day."

Why your numbers might not match other tools

  • Clodix reports exactly what Google or Bing reported to us — the same data you'd see logging into Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools directly, not a separate measurement.
  • Both engines publish their numbers a few days behind, so the most recent day or two is always missing — see data lag.
  • Google and Bing measure different audiences over different windows, so don't expect their tabs to agree with each other.
  • A site analytics tool measuring actual visits (not search impressions) will count differently again — Analytics here is specifically about search performance.

FAQ

Why is "Visitors" the same thing as "clicks"?

Because that's what the number represents: people who clicked through from a search result to your site. We label the tile "Visitors" because that's the plain-language question people ask; search engines call the same number "clicks".

Can I see clicks for a single keyword?

The Top keywords table shows clicks per query for the window you've picked. A dedicated per-keyword history isn't available on the Keywords screen itself.

The numbers for the last day or two look low or missing — is something broken?

No — that's the normal reporting delay both Google and Bing publish on, two to three days. See Search Console problems if it's been longer.
