Connect Google Search Console
Connect Google Search Console to Clodix for real clicks, impressions and rankings, step by step.
Search Console is Google's own record of how your site performs in search. Connect it once and Clodix turns that into the Analytics screen — real clicks, impressions and rankings instead of estimates — and your content plan starts learning from what people actually search for.

Connect it
- Open Settings → Search data, or go to Analytics while nothing is connected yet — both open the same connect window.
- Clodix checks your site for a Search Console verification tag before asking you to sign in, and tells you what it found:
- if a trace is found, you're most likely already set up there — sign in with the Google account that owns it;
- if nothing is found, open the step-by-step guide right there in the same window.
- If your site isn't in Search Console yet:
- Open Google Search Console and sign in.
- Add property → URL prefix → enter
https://yoursite.com. If you manage your domain's DNS, a Domain property covers every subdomain at once. - Verify with the HTML tag method: paste the
google-site-verificationtag into your homepage's<head>. On WordPress this is usually Yoast or Rank Math → Webmaster tools; on Shopify, edittheme.liquid; on Wix, Squarespace or Webflow it's under SEO settings → Site verification. A Domain property is verified by a DNS TXT record instead. - Press Verify in Search Console.
- Back in Clodix, click Continue with Google and sign in with the same Google account that owns the property in Search Console. We only ever read your search data — nothing changes on your site or in your Google account.
The "unverified app" warning screen
Google may show a red warning screen the first time you connect — "Clodix hasn't been verified by Google yet." This is Google's standard warning for a newly listed app, not a sign that anything is wrong. It's safe to continue:
- Click Advanced.
- Click Go to clodix.ai (unsafe).
- Click Allow.
We only ever request read-only access to your Search Console data — never the ability to change anything on your site or in your Google account.
What Clodix uses this for
- The Analytics screen: your real clicks, impressions, click rate and average position, plus which searches and which pages bring people in.
- Your position on the Keywords screen, once it has synced.
- The one-time Rebuild plan from Search Console offer on the Calendar, once enough real queries have come in — it folds what people already find you for into your content plan.
Data lag
Search Console publishes its own numbers two to three days behind — that's Google, not Clodix. The most recent day or two will always be missing from Analytics, in Search Console itself as well as here. Give a brand-new connection a day before expecting the first numbers at all.
Disconnect
Open Settings → Search data → Manage next to Google Search Console, then Disconnect. Analytics drops back to the "Connect Google Search Console" screen; nothing already published is affected.
FAQ
Do I need Search Console to use Clodix?
No. Clodix writes and publishes articles without it. Search Console only feeds the Analytics screen and "Your position" on Keywords — connect it when you want real numbers instead of estimates.
Can I connect a Domain property instead of a URL-prefix property?
Yes. A Domain property covers www, subdomains and http/https variants in one go, and Clodix matches your site against whichever property you've verified.
Will connecting Search Console change anything on my site?
No. The connection is read-only — Clodix only reads your search performance data. Nothing is written back to Search Console or to your site.
